I Am Who I Am

("I'm here" )

Since hundreds or thousands years, everyone has starting to have his/her own name. Every country has different culture and history, and they look at their names with different attitudes. In China, people’s names are one of the most important things in the entire life. The meaning of name can affect a person’s fate. Chinese people’s names are always named from the elder of the families. The names contain the Five Elements of Chinese culture such as: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. My name is Bo Jin which my parents gave me. Bo means the ocean waves, and it belongs to the water element. Another meaning for my name is braveness because my parents wanted me to do everything as bravery as the ocean waves. No matter how hard life is gong to be, I can be brave, I can stay strong. They wanted me to be as generous as the ocean which would make my life to be perfect and happy. When the ocean’s tide is coming, it is strong, it is scary, and it is short. Once the tide is falling, it is quiet and calm. My parent know that their son will encounter many difficulties in his life as the pounding waves eat away at the shoreline. The life will get hard, but it is normal, and I need to be strong. My name embodies my disposition. I can ride the wind and waves to overcome when the difficulties appear, and eventually everything will stay quiet again.
